Video: Dak Prescott Goes Down With Apparent Leg Injury (Update)

Dak Prescott suffered a tough-looking leg injury during the third quarter of today's game against the Giants:

Prescott was taken off the field on a cart, to an applause of the Cowboys fans. You could tell by the look on his face, and the grave tone of Jim Nantz and Tony Romo, that this is expected to be a serious injury.

Prescott is in his fifth season in the NFL, and has never missed a start. As has been widely discussed, he was playing out this season on the franchise tag and was set to secure a potential nine-figure payday, whether from the Cowboys or someone else, this upcoming offseason.

Andy Dalton is in at quarterback for the Cowboys, and now what they do for the long term at the position is even more in question.

This is a developing story and we will update as more information becomes available.

Update: Dr. David Chao weighs in: "Right ankle fracture dislocation. Dak even tries to reduce it himself but it doesn't stay. Indicates unstable fracture. Will need surgery. Done for season. Career should still be OK. This is reason to get long-term deal done."
