Tornadoes Force Rockets’ Team Plane To Circle For Hour Before Landing

Videos by OutKick

The Houston Rockets had a scary hour of flight in the air this weekend as they traveled to Memphis.

The Rockets’ team plane was forced to circle for an hour in turbulence on the way to Memphis for a game against the Grizzlies, The Houston Chronicle’s Danielle Lerner reported on Saturday.

Larry Brown Sports reports the plane was unable to land due to tornado sirens going off in downtown Memphis amid a tornado warning in Shelby County, but the Rockets were able to land safely after 1 a.m.

Memphis beat Houston 113-106 at FedExForum. The Rockets (8-18) will next travel to face the Atlanta Hawks (13-13) on Monday.
