Tom Brady Jokes About Chase Young Statement, Rookie DE Doubles Down

The Chase Young-Tom Brady drama continues to build, and more fuel was thrown on the fire for Saturday's game when both players met with the media Wednesday. The old timer joked about Young's bold statement after Sunday's win over the Eagles. “Tom Brady! Tom Brady, I’m coming. I want Tom!” Young yelled as he left the field.

The 43-year-old quarterback with six Super Bowl rings had his chance to fire back at the rookie, but he kept it very Brady-like.

"He is obviously a great young player, and we have our hands full with that (defensive) line," Tom told the media Wednesday.

Tom also added in a joke to loosen the mood a little bit.

"He went to Ohio State, so I think that Ohio State-Michigan thing wears off on him a little bit."

As for Young, he's still absolutely jacked up for the Wild Card game. Bruce Arians has tried to warn him to be careful what he wishes for, but the rookie isn't backing down.

"I'm excited for every game. Tom Brady? You think I won't be excited to play against the G.O.A.T? You trippin'," Young said, according to Football Team reporter John Keim. "I'm not going to apologize for saying 'I want Tom.'"

If those fireworks weren't enough from today's media availability, Gronk provided a lighter moment when he was asked for a favorite non-football memory of Brady.

"I would say going to the Kentucky Derby and seeing him take a shot and seeing his face after it in disgust … it was a shot of Fireball," Gronk said, adding in his famous laugh.
