Titans Great Eddie George To Coach Tennessee State

Eddie George dominated as a running back with the Tennessee Titans, and now he's about to show what he can do as a coach -- still in Tennessee.

Per Brett McMurphy of Stadium, George will be the new main man at Tennessee State, an FBS program that competes in the Ohio Valley Conference.

"TSU, currently coached by Rod Reed, plays Southeast Missouri today in final game of spring," McMurphy noted. "George, who has no coaching experience, is the first major hire by AD Mikki Allen."

The Tigers are 2-4 entering Sunday's home game vs. Southeast Missouri State (3-4).

George, 47, played for the Titans from 1996-2003. He made the Pro Bowl four times and his No. 27 has been retired by the franchise, finishing his career with 10,441 rushing yards and 68 touchdowns, along with 2,227 receiving yards and 10 scores.

George won the 1995 Heisman Trophy as a running back at Ohio State.
