A top offseason priority for the Titans has been adding reinforcements to the secondary. As good as Tennessee was in 2020, their pass defense was atrocious. They gave up 270.8 yards per game, which ranked No. 28 in the NFL.
In free agency, the Titans added one potential starter, Jackrabbit Jenkins, formerly known as Janoris Jenkins, to go with Matthias Farley and some other depth options. That wasn’t nearly enough, however.
Once the draft rolled around in April, they used three of their seven draft picks on the secondary.
- Round 1 (No. 22) – Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech
- Round 3 (No. 100) – Elijah Molden, CB, Washington
- Round 6 (No. 215) – Brady Breeze, S, Oregon
This combination should provide a big boost, but the Titans aren’t done trying to find some help. With defensive back Chris Jones going on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Wednesday, Tennessee went out and signed NFL journeyman Briean Boddy-Calhoun.

Will this be a long-term move? Probably not, but it should be noted that the 28-year-old has played in 47 career games, racking up 151 tackles, three interceptions and three sacks. His versatility allows him to be deployed at cornerback and safety, so it’s possible he could stick around.
This is now Boddy-Calhoun’s sixth NFL team. In the past, the former undrafted free agent has played for the Jaguars, Browns, Texans, Colts and most recently, the 49ers in 2020.
