When the first Venom movie was released by Marvel back in 2018, there was plenty of feedback, both good and bad, about the movie and how it’s presented.
The movie features actor Tom Hardy playing the lead role of Venom/journalist Eddie Brock and depicts his eventual transformation from daily working man to a monster that eats people without a second thought.
Overall, the movie got a 6.7 out of 10, so it did register as better than average. And like just about every superhero movie, both above and below average, there was always going to be a sequel.
Well, that sequel is ready to roll. On Monday, Marvel released a trailer that already looks MUCH better than the first flick.
Here’s the first look at Venom: Let There Be Carnage, due out on September 24th of this year.
The movie has been set for release several times, but now the studio is supposedly able to release the flick in late September.
One huge addition that will help determine whether the new Venom is a success is the character Cletus Kasady, played by popular actor Woody Harrelson.
Kasady is a crazed serial killer who survives a lethal injection in prison, which appears to awaken the symbiote inside of him and transform him into Carnage.
He and Hardy, whose character Brock has made some peace with his alter-ego Venom, battle it out in a massive symbiote showdown.
We will see whether fans and movie goers enjoy this second Venom version better than the first.
There’s slated to be a number of superhero movies out this summer as life slowly gets back to normal. While the second Venom won’t be out until fall, there will be plenty of anticipation for this next Marvel flick.
