Joey Gallo agreed to participate in the home run derby just moments ago and we officially have a full derby. This will be a derby for the ages. Check out the field:
Confirming the @JonHeyman report that Gallo is in HR derby. This would be the full field.

Gentlemen, commence your thumping.
Ohtani is worth the price of admission as he’ll be completing the competition triple crown. Home run derby, pitching in the all-star game, and DHing in the starting lineup for the American League. Pretty ridiculous that most fans are expecting Shohei Ohtani to win the derby, too.
My pick:
Trevor Story is my guy this year. Natural uppercut swing while also playing in front of that home Colorado crowd. That same energy helped Bryce Harper take the crown in 2018 in front of the Washington faithful, so I don’t see why Story can’t have similar success.
Either way, there’s massive competition that we frankly don’t see on a yearly basis. Who do you think wins the 2021 home run derby? I will admit it would be nuts to see Trey Mancini drop bombs after returning from a battle with cancer. Other than this event being robbed from Atlanta over political gesturing, this couldn’t be any better.
Moved out of ATL. Can’t watch. Bummer.
Agreed. Can’t and won’t.
