Taunting, As Expected, is The Worst Penalty Flag You Can Toss

The NFL's new emphasis on taunting is taking shape, and it's absurd. Like, super absurd. So absurd that Deion Sanders would probably be flagged during every play in today's game. Talk about the No Fun League.

Just take a look at a few of the taunting penalties that were called during yesterday's games:

According to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, talking s*** for a brief second after the play is taunting. Backpedalling into the end zone for one yard is taunting. And yes, spinning the ball is taunting.

In the immortal words of Taylor Twellman, "WHAT ARE WE DOING?" That's how fans feel every week about these new NFL policies.

You can't make this stuff up, and it's a travesty that these teams are being penalized for harmless stuff that's been happening for years. It's an emotional game after all, and Goodell is in no position to tell someone how to react to a big play on the field.

You can put this one near the top of nonsensical rules made up by Goodell, though there are many other contenders in that category.
