Taliban Reportedly Behead Member of Afghan Women's Volleyball Team, Then Posted Images

Taliban militants allegedly beheaded a women's volleyball player, named Mahjabin Hakimi, then posted photos of her decapitated head on social media, according to a report from the Sun.

Hakimi played in the Afghan junior women's national volleyball team before the Taliban took over in August. Her coach says all women athletes are now "forced to flee and live in unknown places."

"All the players of the volleyball team and the rest of the women athletes are in a bad situation and in despair and fear," the coach adds.

Remember, members of Afghanistan's national volleyball team said they were hiding from insurgents in September. One player, Zahra Fayazi, fled to the UK and claimed the Taliban had recently murdered a former member of her team.

"The Taliban asked our players' families to not allow their girls to do sport, otherwise they will be faced with unexpected violence," Fayazi says.

Adding to the report, the Times of Indiasays the Taliban likely murdered Hakimi in early October.
