The Pittsburgh Steelers are scheduled to play the Titans Sunday in Nashville, but news broke Tuesday morning that the Titans had three players and five personnel test positive for COVID. The league has since closed the Titans and Vikings team facilities. The Steelers have been told to get ready to play even though the Titans facility isn’t expected to open until Saturday with the team holding virtual meetings until then.

“We have been in contact with the NFL regarding the positive COVID-19 tests with the Tennessee Titans,” the Steelers said in a statement. “We have been informed to proceed with our game preparations for Sunday’s game until we are informed otherwise.

“We will provide more information when it becomes available.”

Steve Layman from Newschannel 5 in Nashville tweeted that there could be a scheduling option available for both teams to play this game, if in fact it’s canceled. “If Sunday’s game against the Steelers is postponed, the NFL does have one obvious option,” Layman wrote. “The #Steelers and #Ravens play in week 7 and have byes in week 8. The #Titans have a week 7 bye.”

ESPN’s Dan Graziano reports all eight cases within the Titans organization are asymptomatic.
