Steelers FA WR JuJu Smith-Schuster Says He Wants To Stay In Pittsburgh

Soon-to-be free agent wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster claims he's not interested in playing the field to find a new squad. According to TMZ, he would like to continue wearing Steelers colors moving forward.

The 24-year-old who just wrapped up his fourth season in Pittsburgh is likely going to get a number of calls about his services, but the wide out tells TMZ that he would rather stay put.

"At the end of the day, I want to have my legacy in Pittsburgh and retire there," Smith-Schuster told TMZ.

"I don't want to leave."

He may not want to leave, but the decision may not be his to make. The Steelers are $21.7 million over the cap as they enter free agency, and they have to figure out how to get that number down while also keeping Ben Roethlisberger happy.

In four seasons, Smith-Schuster has pulled in 3,726 yards worth of passes with 26 touchdowns. The Steelers began this past season 11-0 before falling apart, and the receiver caught 97 passes for 831 yards with nine scores.

If the Steelers decide that they are going to cut ties with the TikTok star, there are a number of teams that are going to make a push to sign him.

Don't be surprised to see the Jets, Bears, Patriots, Dolphins, and Raiders all show interest in Smith-Schuster to see what his cost would be, should the Steelers decline to bring him back.

For now, he is saying all the right things about wanting to stay with the Steelers.

"Until I actually get let go, other than that, I'm Pittsburgh for life," Smith-Schuster said.
