Tickets To The Women's Final Four Are Shockingly Expensive
Fans better be ready to throw down some serious cash if they want to see Caitlin Clark play in the Final Four.
South Carolina plays NC State followed by UConn/Iowa in the women's Final Four Friday night, and it's without question the most hyped women's Final Four in the history of the sport.
The buzz around it is truly awesome to see, and there's one main person responsible for moving the needle:
Well, fans hoping to catch the action will have to shell out big money.
Women's NCAA Tournament Final Four tickets aren't cheap.
Some fans might have been waiting until today to buy tickets hoping the market would come down. As of publication, that just simply hasn't happened.
The cheapest ticket on SeatGeek to get into Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland is $451. Courtside seats are selling for more than $5,000.
Yes, tickets for women's NCAA Tournament games are selling for several thousand dollars. Imagine telling someone that 10 years ago.
Meanwhile, tickets to the men's Final Four, which is played in the Cardinals stadium in Glendale, are at a similar price. The cheapest ticket to get in is $427.
Now, some want to argue the higher women's prices to simply get in is a sign the women's tournament is more popular. That's not true at all.
Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse has a capacity of 19,432. The capacity at State Farm Stadium for the Final Four is right around 63,400. It's not a fair comparison at all.
However, men's tickets being incredibly expensive is something fans have been used to for a very long time. The same can't be said for the women's tournament.
It's been elevated to a new level thanks to Clark and some other major stars. It's a player driven tournament, while the men's is more about big brands.
