Wisconsin Basketball Fans Still Upset, Despite Winning

Wisconsin basketball fans weren't overly impressed watching the team beat Maryland.

The Badgers desperately needed a win entering Tuesday night, and edged out the Terrapins to improve to 18-9 and 2-5 in the team's last seven games.

Wisconsin is currently going through one of the most embarrassing college basketball skids in recent memory. Greg Gard and his team were ranked sixth in the nation three weeks ago. Now, the team is unranked and fighting to stay alive.

It's truly stunning and downright embarrassing. Were fans happy with the product on the floor Tuesday night during a much-needed win? Not really!

Wisconsin fans react to Maryland win.

Fans took to social media following the 74-70 win, and while some were certainly pleased to finally get a win, many weren't overly enthusiastic.

I don't blame fans at all for not being impressed, despite winning. Are Wisconsin fans supposed to clap their hands like trained seals after *quickly checks notes* beating one of the worst teams in the Big Ten?

It's a borderline miracle the Badgers even won. A late three from Max Klesmit and several free throws sealed a win over a terrible Terrapins squad. Nobody should be happy about that. Nobody, and I'm definitely not.

Now, is it nice to get a win and slow down the skid? Sure, but Tuesday night could have easily been a loss. Wisconsin's fans are fortunate it's not.

Either way, Gard needs to figure it out ASAP because there are remaining games against Indiana, Illinois, Rutgers and Purdue. It could be a bloodbath. Let me know your thoughts on the state of Wisconsin basketball at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
