WATCH: Fan Nails Nick Pugh, Lucas Herbert's Caddie, In The Head With A Water Bottle At LIV Golf Adelaide

Golf caddies don’t normally get hazard pay for their job, but one guy at the LIV Golf Adelaide should ask for some after what happened on Saturday.

Australian golfer Lucas Herbert made a putt for birdie on the 12th hole at The Grange Golf Club, the crowd in attendance started launching drinks and water bottles on or near the green. Herbert didn’t mind the show of support, since this is known as that course’s "party hole" and this kind of behavior is expected. Heck, Herbert even encouraged the crowd to keep acting rowdy.

But the fun and games came to an unfortunate end when Herbert’s caddie, Nick Pugh, fell to the ground in pain. One of the water bottles from the crowd struck him in the head as he was putting the flag back in the hole.

Fortunately, Pugh was fine and made his way back to the clubhouse, thankfully avoiding any significant injuries. But Herbert seemed to take a passive-aggressive swipe at the fan who put his caddie in harm’s way.

"I was worried about him to begin with, but he’s good now," Herbert said-. "He’s good and he took it really well. He could have been a lot more upset with it, but he took it really well. It’s probably difficult to request someone who has had 15 beers to aim a water bottle away from someone. That’s maybe asking too much."

The incident didn’t ruin the rest of Herbert’s day, as he shot a seven-under 65 during his second round. But he’s still seven shots behind American Brendan Steele for the individual lead, and Herbert’s Ripper GC is fourth in the team event.
