Warriors Celebrate Clinching 10th Seed As Golden State's Empire Crumbles

How the mighty have fallen … The Golden State Warriors empire may be officially buried after the team celebrated just barely clinching a spot for the NBA postseason over the weekend.

From 2015 to 2022, Golden State won four NBA championships and ushered in a ‘small-ball’ style of play that punished the league for almost a decade.

As the NBA reverts to favoring teams with size, the Warriors' dynasty already appears like a relic.

On Sunday, the Warriors proudly announced that they've clinched a top-10 seed, which was a euphemism for clinching the 10th spot in the West.

Social media had a blast grilling the Warriors as the once-hated empire team, now standing in the rubble of their glory days.

"Graphics for the 10-seed … It’s never been more over," one critic stated.

"This franchise used to clinch the 1 seed by the All-star break," another user commented.

One person added, "No way they're celebrating this."

Steph Curry's still an outstanding talent at the point guard position.

Aside from the generational shooting talent, Steve Kerr's Warriors haven't much to rely on regarding the X's and O's or the roster.

For a while, young center Jonathan Kuminga appeared to be a rising star in Golden State until his hot streak ran out. Then there's Andrew Wiggins, the 29-year-old former No. 1 overall pick whose off-the-court concerns continue to weigh down his progress in the league.

Still depending on a deranged Draymond Green and worn-down Klay Thompson, the Warriors' demise is finally here and the graphic celebrating the 10th seed drove the point further. Golden State hoped to delay its empire's extinction by bringing on Chris Paul in a trade. The 38-year-old has played like a shell of himself for the Warriors.

Perhaps  Brandin Podziemski can save this franchise … (not really).

Golden State is 42-35 ahead of Sunday's game against the Jazz, and four games left on their schedule, heading into the final week of the NBA regular season.
