Viral Reddit Post Flames March Madness Fans For Ruining Las Vegas

Is Las Vegas being ruined by tourists in town for March Madness?

The opening weekend of the NCAA Tournament is always one of the busiest times of the year in Las Vegas. It's right up there with the Super Bowl and the opening weekend of college football.

As a Las Vegas fan, I can promise you there are few things more entertaining and fun than cooking up parlays and drinking in a sportsbook for hours and hours.

However, it turns out not everyone is happy with March Madness fans descending on Sin City.

Redditors complain about March Madness fans in Las Vegas.

One person decided to take to Reddit to complain about college basketball fans coming to Las Vegas to tear it up and chase a buzz.

"I’ve been staying at MGM Grand since Thursday and I’ve seen three fights here so far including within the first hour I arrived.  Just the amount of insane drunk people around are way more aggressive than usual. Is this just the March madness crowd," the now-viral post asks Reddit users.

Hmmm, March Madness fans are ruining Las Vegas? Say it isn't so? How could it be? Well, people have some thoughts. Check out different reactions below, and hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com:

  • Any large event will, but March madness does bring out the light beer bros for sure.
  • March madness is the biggest sausage fest of the year, so it’s not unexpected.
  • Worst tourists since the Super Bowl! I mean since F1! I mean since
  • For whatever reason, the March Madness crowd likes to yell and scream about games more than anybody else.
  • When people make their whole identities around college sports
  • Alcohol does… so all the time!
  • Ask any Seasoned Bartender if they were here for NBA All Star Weekend. Their response is how most of us feel about basketball events. It's deep trauma.
  • Yes.
  • Yes. Absolutely.

However, others were quick to point out that there's no way in hell March Madness fans are the problem or close to it:

  • Oddly enough I felt this weekend was filled with people that weren't interested in March Madness or spring break. But it WAS a nice weekend for the most part, weather wise.
  • I was in town last year during March Madness which was also ConExpo and it was the busiest I’ve ever seen Vegas and it was awesome. You seem soft.
  • The worst crowds I’ve seen were UFC crowds, followed closely by the LA riffraff that swarmed Vegas during Covid.
  • No it's just Saturday

If March Madness fans bother you then, I have some news for you. You're a very soft person. College basketball fans *LOVE* cold beer, gambling and going crazy for late game heroics.

They're among the best people on the planet. They're harmless and just want a good time. That's what Vegas is all about. I've been in Vegas before a couple times for the opening weekend of college football, and I can promise you it's a blast. Do people get too drunk? Without a doubt, but this is Las Vegas we're talking about.

There are some very creepy and dangerous people in the city. There are human zombies walking the strip that you should avoid at all costs. However, the idea that college basketball fans are ruining Las Vegas is simply comical. It's not close to being true.

Go to Las Vegas, soak up some games, have a great time and ignore the haters. They're simply not cut from the same cloth as those us who dominate Sin City. Let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
