Video: Orioles Prospect Jackson Holliday Reacts To Being Promoted To Big Leagues

If you don't know the name Jackson Holliday - you soon will.

The 20-year-old baseball prospect is the son of former 7x All-Star and World Series Champion outfielder Matt Holliday, and he's now making his own career path after being promoted to the Majors yesterday.

New video was shared by the Baltimore Orioles that showed Jackson reacting to the news that he was going to be brought up to the Majors, as baseball's hottest prospect looks to show the entire league what he has to offer.

VIDEO CAPTURED HOLLIDAY FINDING OUT HE WAS BEING CALLED UP

"Tonight I want you to call your dad and I want you to thank him for all the times he allowed you to come to the Clubhouse, be on the pass list, hit with the big guys - that's pretty special," Baltimore's Triple-A Norfolk Tides manager Mike Montville began.

"The second thing I want you to tell him is that now it's time for him to ask permission to be on Jackson Holliday's list because it's time for you to go to the Big Leagues," Montville added as Jackson's face burst into a massive smile and he keeps saying "that's awesome."

After just spending a few weeks this season playing for the Orioles Triple-A affiliate, the 2022 No. 1 draft pick in 2022 comes in with high expectations for a team that won 101 games last year only to then fizzle out and get swept in the ALDS. He hit .333, with 9 RBI and 2 home-runs in 10 games.

Holliday also announced he'd be taking the No. 7 after Orioles great Cal Ripken Sr - whose son, baseball legend Cal Ripken Jr. tweeted out a congratulation to Jackson as well.

HOLLIDAY IS THE SON OF FORMER PLAYER MATT HOLLIDAY

For a league that's had its share of issues and a fanbase that has been fading out in recent years, Major League Baseball has to be stoked for the next generation of players - some of whom may be the best to ever play the game.

Whether it's Juan Soto, Ronald Acuna Jr, Elly De La Cruz, Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Fernando Tatis Jr., Adley Rutschman or even Jackson Holliday now, fans are starting to get excited once again.
