UFC Fighter Geane Herrera Dies In Motorcycle Crash
Former UFC fighter Geane Herrera died in a motorcycle crash over the weekend, sparking condolences from the MMA community. Herrera was 33.
The ex-flyweight fighter reportedly struck the back of a vehicle while riding his motorcycle in Tampa, Fla.
According to MMA Junkie, the departed struck the vehicle at "high speeds" and was projected several hundred feet after making contact with a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Herrera was declared dead at the scene.

The fighter's family set up a GoFundMe page dedicated to Herrera, described as "trying to live life to the fullest" and led by "big dreams of making a difference" in the world.
Herrera tallied a 1-3 record in the UFC before competing in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship in 2018. His final fight for the UFC was a flyweight bout (ending in a loss for Herrera) against Ben Nguyen on Nov. 27, 2016.

The fighter's fundraiser page read,
"Geane leaves behind a 16-year-old son, his 3-month pregnant girlfriend, mother, father, sisters, a brother and a family that loves him and will deeply miss him.
"Geane was full of life, always trying to live life to the fullest, he was a dedicated athlete with big dreams of making a difference and leaving his print in this world. He was such a happy go lucky person that left a mark in everyone that came into his life.
"Geane was an American mixed martial artist competing in the Flyweight division. He competed primarily for regional organizations in the Southeastern United States where he amassed an undefeated record of 8–0, before signing with the UFC in 2014 and then in 2019 joined the BKFC. He won a few fights lost some others but every time no matter what happened always had a positive outlook to life and his craft. He was a dedicated sportsman that unfortunately because of an injury was unable to keep fighting professionally."
