Tyreek Hill Bashes Dolphins Fans Who Want Team To Trade Jaylen Waddle

Apparently, there are some Miami Dolphins fans who think the team should trade wide receiver Jaylen Waddle. This is news to me. But, Tyreek Hill took to X to call out those fans.

He called Waddle "the future" and says that Waddle is better now than Hill was at the same age. Waddle is 25-years-old and just finished his third year in the NFL after the Dolphins drafted him with the sixth overall pick in the 2021 draft.

Jaylen Waddle just posted his third-consecutive 1,000-yard season to begin his career. He has over 250 catches and 19 total touchdowns.

Statistically-speaking, Hill and Waddle have similar stats following their third NFL seasons. However, Hill was a two-time All-Pro at that point. Granted, one of those All-Pros came from special teams as Hill was a dynamic kickoff and punt returner as a rookie.

This all started thanks to former Miami Dolphins GM, and current ESPN analyst, Mike Tannenbaum floating a hypothetical trade on Get Up. Tannenbaum said the Dolphins should call the Chiefs and try to trade Waddle for cornerback Trent McDuffie.

Miami Herald Dolphins writer Barry Jackson then wrote a column about Tannenbaum's comments and riled up Dolphins Twitter.

This is all according to resident OutKick Dolphins' expert, Zach Dean. I did some hardcore reporting and messaged Dean on Slack. I just want you all to know how hard I work for you.

First of all, the trade actually does make some sense. Miami has a lot of offensive weapons already, and they probably have to cut Xavien Howard to save cap space. McDuffie is a star on defense and the Chiefs need a star on offense.

Additionally, Dolphins fans supporting this trade aren't saying "we should trade Jaylen Waddle to get rid of him." They're saying "we should listen to trade ideas that make our team better."

Hill might think trading Waddle – no matter the return – doesn't make the team better.

That's a different conversation. But, suggesting a mutually beneficial trade doesn't mean fans hate Waddle.

I don't know any Dolphins fans that want to dump Waddle.

But, it's talking season. You know what that means … lots of talking and little action.
