Tommy DeVito Goes Full On 'GoodFellas' At NFL Honors

New York Giants chicken parm-loving backup quarterback Tommy DeVito channeled his inner ‘Goodfellas' last night during the NFL Honors and, just like his playing career, it didn't end well.

At one point during the NFL Network / CBS award show, host Keegan-Michael Key was sitting next to the Giants quarterback who was all the buzz in New York last season until he wasn't.

Key mentions that DeVito's run in which the team won three games in a row to keep their playoff hopes alive only to eventually have his inexperience and bad play send him back to the bench, as "Funny." That led DeVito to go into a Goodfellas-inspired bit in which Joe Pesci (who plays real life mobster Tommy DeVito in the film) questions why something he did was so funny.

NOTHING GOOD ABOUT TOMMY DEVITO'S GOODFELLAS

"Funny? Funny how? Like I’m a clown? I amuse you?" a gold chain sporting DeVito asked with a delivery that was so forced it would have made the late Goodfellas actor Ray Liotta roll over in his grave.

Producers for the NFL Honors show had the right idea - the Goodfellas spin-off could have worked in theory for maybe the Oscars, but not for an NFL award show. The problem was that the majority of the audience had ZERO clue about the film reference. Seriously, watch the clip and look at the audience members. At the top right you've got an old guy who is cracking up and so excited to tell his wife that he gets the joke and that they're ripping off Goodfellas. But then the younger people around DeVito including the guy next to him and the woman two seats over? Nothing at all.

One thing's for sure, we know that DeVito doesn't have an acting future in his future career. His delivery was as poor as his arm delivery in his last football game, where he threw just 55 yards against the Eagles before being benched.

TOMMY DEVITO WAS THE LINSANITY FOR GIANTS FANS

I'd say don't quit your day job for acting Tommy Cutlets, but I'm not sure he still has one of those.  Daniel Jones is returning to the helm for the G-men this year. DeVito will most likely be the third-string quarterback again for the team this season.

But hey, at least Tommy will always have his two seconds of fame for his winning the Bud Light celebration of the year for his "Italian hand, how ya doing?" gesture.
