Tiger Woods Withdraws From Genesis With Illness, Paramedics Called?

Well, all that exciting progress from Tiger Woods' performance on Thursday at the Genesis Invitational has been officially wiped out.

Despite a dead right shank on the 18th hole on Thursday, Woods made it through the round seemingly unscathed.

But on Friday, he withdrew from the tournament officially after just seven holes. Initially, it was reported that the 48-year-old had bowed out due to back spasms, but that was quickly corrected. Woods apparently came down with what's been labeled an "illness," and had to be carted back to the clubhouse.

Ambulance Reportedly Called, For Tiger Woods?

An ambulance and fire truck were spotted outside the clubhouse, but it was unclear as of late Friday afternoon if they'd been called for Woods or someone else.

According to several eyewitnesses though, the ambulance wound up leaving with no one in it.

Barstool's Dan Rapaport also reported that Woods suffered from "flu-like symptoms," and was "dizzy" with a "fever." He was treated with an IV, and also suffered from dehydration.

Thankfully it doesn't seem to be too serious, but still frustrating for the tour and golf fans that he won't be able to finish the weekend at Riviera.

The good news is that he was described as physically fine, meaning he hopefully won't be kept out of future tournaments with back problems. Two steps forward, one step back.
