Texas A&M Staffer Arrested On Multiple Murder Charges

Texas A&M staffer Blaise Taylor is facing multiple murder charges.

Taylor was arrested by United States Marshals Thursday night in Utah on two counts of first-degree murder in the state of Tennessee, according to ESPN.

Taylor is accused of poisoning his girlfriend Jade Benning in February 2023 and killing her and her unborn baby. Taylor is believed to have fathered the unborn child. Jade fought to survive before dying March 6, 2023 and the baby died February 27, 2023, according to the same report.

Jade Benning was never able to speak with police before dying. She died the day of her 25th birthday.

WSMV reported "months of investigation, led by Homicide Unit Detective Adam Reese, and involving scientists from the crime lab and doctors from the Medical Examiner’s Office" ultimately led to evidence to the grand jury indictment that resulted in U.S. Marshals taking Taylor into custody.

It's not clear at this time when Taylor will first appear in court, and he has the right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Taylor is currently defensive analyst for Texas A&M, and previously was also on staff at Utah State and worked as a pro scout for the Tennessee Titans, according to ESPN. His father is currently the RB's coach at Texas A&M. Prior to being a coach, Blaise Taylor was a standout football player at Arkansas State.

He was an all-Sun Belt player and holds school records for punt return yards, pass breakups and is the Sun Belt's all-time leader in passes defended, according to the same ESPN report.
