Tampa Mayor Says Lightning Should Skip Game 4 Sweep, Win The Series Back Home To Celebrate With Family, Friends

The Tampa Bay Lightning are one win away from sweeping the Stanley Cup Finals against the Montreal Canadiens, but if they clinch the series in Game 4 on Monday, families of players and staff will not be on the ice to celebrate.

Tampa's Mayor Jane Castor thinks the 2020 Stanley Cup champs should let the Canadiens have this Game 4 win, ditch the sweep and come home to Tampa Bay for a Game 5 win to celebrate with friends and family.

OutKick previously reported the Canadian government did not grant additional exemptions for family members to cross the border and skirt the federal 14-day quarantine, preventing the Bolts' family from joining the team.

The team seems ready to finish the sweep in Canada, though.

Game 4 is set for tonight, July 5, at 8 p.m.
