Whoop-De-Doo: Caleb Williams Crushes It At USC Pro Day, But Shouldn't He?

All eyes were on quarterback Caleb Williams on Wednesday as the likely No. 1 overall pick in April's NFL Draft worked out in front of teams at the USC Pro Day.

A large Chicago Bears contingent was in attendance, of course, as the team holds the top pick in the draft, and they just traded away their former starting quarterback, Justin Fields

Not only were the front office folks, like GM Ryan Poles, on the USC campus, but new Bears wide receiver Keenan Allen showed up as well.

Interestingly, Allen wore #13 for all 11 years he spent with the Los Angeles Chargers. Williams wore #13 for the USC Trojans. Perhaps the two discussed which player gets the number for the Bears next season?

Williams then took the field for the NFL scouts in attendance. He started with a warm-up and even threw some passes left-handed, just for fun.

After all that, it was time to start letting the ball fly. Remember, though, it's not Caleb Williams' arm talent that should raise questions for NFL teams…

There was a lot made about how Williams' teammates appeared to like him and he dapped up several Bears staffers after his workout, and his USC teammates.

At the end of the day, none of this really matters. We've seen quarterbacks absolutely crush their pro days only to flop in the NFL.

Zach Wilson made one incredible throw that went viral and practically cemented him as the #2 overall pick in the NFL Draft. Now, the New York Jets can't wait to get rid of him.

I'm not saying that will happen to Caleb Williams, just that his Pro Day doesn't really mean anything. Everyone knows the kid has a cannon for an arm. There's more to playing quarterback in the NFL.

Plus, he's making these throws in shorts and a t-shirt with no pass rush to wide receivers that aren't covered by defensive backs. What does that prove?

Nothing. The answer is nothing.
