Ryan Garcia Shares Theory That His Positive PED Test Is A Result Of Being A Donald Trump Supporter

Ryan Garcia recently endorsed former President Donald Trump, which according to him, is the culprit behind his recently revealed failed drug test.

On Wednesday, ESPN's Mike Coppinger revealed that Garcia had tested positive for Ostarine, a performance enhancing drug, the day before his upset victory over Devin Haney. The positive test came via his A-sample, and now Garcia has 10 days to request that his other sample be tested.

Haney responded to Garcia's positive drug test in rather dramatic fashion pointing to the fact that "people die" in boxing and that this is no joking matter.

"We learned about this situation not too long ago and it’s unfortunate Ryan cheated and disrespected both the fans and the sport of boxing by fighting dirty and (testing) positive not once, but twice," Haney said in a statement.

"I’ve always been an advocate for clean fighting and this is an example of such. Ryan owes the fans an apology, and by his recent Tweet he still thinks this is a joke. We put our lives on the line to entertain people for a living. You don’t play boxing.

"This puts the fight in a completely different light. Despite the disadvantage, I still fought on my shield and got back up! People die in this sport. This isn’t a joking matter."

While Haney has issued his response to the positive PED test, so too has Garcia.

Not only does Garcia deny that he ever used performance enhancing drugs, but he took things a step further making the claim that his support of Trump had something to do with the positive test.

"It’s funny I bring up all these things…how about Gaza? Protect Trump. All these things that I shouldn’t be saying, of course, they’re out to get me," Garcia said in a video.

Garcia also shared a post on X, formerly Twitter, making the link to his support of Trump and the positive test.

Garcia upset Haney via majority decision after knocking down the 25-year-old on three different occasions during their bout on April 20.
