Red Bull Suspends Employee Who Filed Complaint Against Christian Horner: Report

According to reports, Red Bull has suspended the team employee who filed a complaint against team principal Christian Horner.

The UK's PA news agency  reported the suspension, while Sky Sports reported that the employee in question is still receiving full pay during their suspension.

The complainant accused Horner of inappropriate behavior which led to Red Bull GmbH, the team's parent company, launching an investigation that cast a shadow over the launch of the team's 2024 car, the RB20, as well as testing.

The entire time, Horner denied any wrongdoing and was cleared of any wrongdoing by the Red Bull investigation.

Of course, the way this was all handled raised eyebrows up and down the paddock, especially after texts, images, and videos allegedly sent by Horner to the complainant were passed along to hundreds of journalists, the 9 other team principals, the FIA, and Formula 1, then were subsequently leaked online.

News of the employee's suspension is the latest twist in this story, which has led to questions and criticism about the lack of transparency regarding the investigation.

Other team principals have questioned the investigation, and the situation surrounding Horner continues to be a distraction for Red Bull and the entire sport.

Lewis Hamilton commented on the impact the scandal is having on the sport ahead of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

"It’s a really, really important time for the sport to show and stick to its values, hold ourselves accountable for our actions, and it’s a really, really pivotal moment for the sport in terms of what we project to the world and how it’s handled," he said.

However, the off-track distractions don't seem to have affected the team's performance as Max Verstappen breezed to an easy win at the opening race of the season in Bahrain, while teammate Sergio Perez joined him on the podium in P2.
