Former Florida Player Savages Gators Coaching Staff After Transferring To Ole Miss

Princely Umanmielen had some very blunt thoughts about his coaching - or lack thereof - during his time with the Florida Gators.

Umanmielen, a very talented DE, was one of the most sought after players in the transfer portal, and eventually landed at Ole Miss to finish his college career.

Lane Kiffin has certainly found himself a great piece to help bolster his defense for the 2024 campaign. Umanmielen also seems happy for a reason you don't often hear guys admit:

He didn't really receive coaching at Florida.

Princely Umanmielen not-so-subtly hammers Florida coaching staff.

Umanmielen recently spoke with the media and revealed that he didn't receive much direct coaching at all with the Gators. In fact, he suggested the team didn't have much of a plan, and instead would just tell him to go use his "talent."

"When I was at Florida, they would just tell me, ‘Go drop to this area.’ And I'd have to figure out everything else on my own. Here [Ole Miss] they go real into depth and I feel like I'm actually being developed here," Umanmielen explained, in part.

Tough look for head coach Billy Napier and the defensive side of the ball. Players transfer for all sorts of reasons. Some can get more NIL money, guys want more playing time, sometimes a change of scenario is needed and at times, there are issues with coaches. Generally, people don't like to air the dirty laundry when it comes to the last one.

Everyone likes to shake hands, wish each other luck and move on. That very well could also be what Umanmielen wanted, but he ended accidently or on purpose just burying the Florida staff. He's making it sound like they were out there scheming up game plans like it was a backyard football game.

Just go out there and figure it out.

That might work for your family Thanksgiving football game. It definitely isn't going to work in the SEC or against any other good team.
