A major concern looming over Hurts: Has the Eagles QB's attack grown stale?
According to a recent ESPN report, the real question in Philadelphia is whether Jalen Hurts and the organization can still grow together before cracks in the offense start spreading through the locker room. Hurts is the quarterback who helped bring the Eagles to a Super Bowl in 2025, but the focus inside the building has reportedly shifted from what he has accomplished to what he can still become.

For the last two seasons, Philadelphia built its offense around Hurts’ comfort zone. Living in the shotgun helped him see the field, play fast, and make confident decisions.
The problem, according to the report, is that what once made the Eagles dangerous eventually became a tell. Defenses began to recognize the script, and what used to feel sharp started to look predictable.
That has led to another uncomfortable question: how much control should Hurts have at the line of scrimmage?
The report suggests there is growing tension over just how much freedom Hurts should be given within a more structured system.

At the same time, Hurts’ leadership style is drawing more attention. His stoic, guarded personality worked when the Eagles were winning. During the struggles of 2025, it was seen through a different lens. The reported tension with A.J. Brown only adds to the sense that something has been unsettled beneath the surface.
