Paris River Is Full Of Feces And Olympic Triathlon May Not Happen

The upcoming Paris Olympics triathlon may be at risk of not happening because the city's River Seine is so polluted with dangerous levels of bacteria AND FECES, that it may not be safe in time for the athletes to compete in it.

According to France's Surfider Foundation, which has monitored the country's water levels for over 20 years, samples in recent weeks and months have at times been at least 4x the World Triathlon health standards. "We are therefore genuinely concerned about the health of athletes," the Foundation said.

Paris' citizens themselves haven't been allowed to legally swim in the water for decades now - it literally is a cesspool. The city had previously allocated $1.5 billion to try and clean the water, but apparently didn't do a good enough job.

WATER FULL OF DANGEROUS BACTERIA

The concerns have become so real that even the International Olympic Committee spoke on the matter and said that if the water isn't safe enough, they may change the triathlon to a duathlon, which would be just running and cycling.

The news comes as the entire city of Paris, France has been infested with bed bugs - so much so that government officials had to hold an emergency meeting a few months ago to try and figure out how to get it under control.

Imagine working your whole entire life as an athlete for this moment - the biggest of the big, the Olympics.

This is what dreams are made of, after all. This is what all those training sessions you did when you were sick, all those times you were sad you missed birthday parties and weddings because you were competing - the Olympics was the ultimate end goal to make it all be worth it.

And then suddenly it goes to the dumps - literally.
