NHL Brothers Nick & Marcus Foligno Draw Ire Of Swifties By Proclaiming Wives Are Hotter Than Taylor Swift

This is the strangest time to be alive. If you had told me that NHL veterans Nick and Marcus Foligno would put themselves in the crosshairs of Taylor Swift sycophants, I wouldn't have believed you.

Of course, I'm writing an article about it so it happened… but it still seems too bizarre to be a real story.

Nick Foligno's Chicago Blackhawks faced off against his brother Marcus' Minnesota Wild on Wednesday night. That's not exactly a marquee matchup — especially with Connor Bedard still nursing a broken jaw — but still intriguing when you've got the Folignos playing each other.

Those two aren't exactly household names, however, they garner a lot of respect in hockey circles for being throwback-style players who are tough as nails and don't mind chucking some knucks if they have to. Marcus even fought on Wednesday night.

So, before the game, the TNT crew took a moment to interview the brothers together. TNT Studio analyst and Spittin' Chiclets co-host Paul Bissonette asked the Brothers Foligno if they had plans to start their own podcast a la Jason and Travis Kelce.

"Nick actually brought that up one day," Marcus said. "I don't know."

"I don't think we're as interesting (as the Kelces)," Nick chimed in. "None of us are dating Taylor Swift; our wives are hotter, but…"

This got a huge laugh in the studio, which was then followed by my favorite part of the entire video. Moments after saying their wives are hotter, Liam McHugh chimed in with "This is the beginning of one of you potentially dating someone on the level of Taylor Swift though."

That was hilarious. McHugh is a veteran broadcaster and great at what he does, so I guarantee he had a producer yapping in his ear and simply missed part of what had just been said.

That's gold, Jerry…

Nick Foligno's Shoutout To His Wife Got Some Reactions

Anywho… Congratulations to Nick and Marcus on a spectacular pre-Valentine's Day W. If they forget a card, that remark just earned them at least a one-day grace period. Maybe two.

However, while that was a victory on the homefront, it few the ire of Swifties, who are for some reason crazier and even more aggressive than Slayer fans.

While a scathing retort from @MusicGi24187268 will sure have gotten both Folignos sweating, they'll be happy to learn that there were plenty of others giving them props for pumping their ladies' tires.

For the record, I would listen to a Foligno brothers podcast. Maybe have their old man, ex-NHL player and assistant coach Mike Foligno, on too.

Those guys would have some stories…

Oh, and if you were wondering, the Wild defeated the Blackhawks 2-1… my condolences to those who bet the Wild puckline.
