NFL Draft Tight End Prospect Tip Reiman Doesn't Believe In Birds

There are a lot of conspiracy theories out there, but this one from Tip Reiman might just be the all-time craziest.

The former Illinois tight end turned a lot of heads at the NFL Scouting Combine on Thursday, but not for his football skills, his 40 time or his vertical jump. Instead, Reiman is making headlines for his theory that — checks notes — birds aren't real.

"Have you ever seen a baby pigeon?" he asked reporters. "How do we know that power lines aren't charging stations for pigeons?"

In fairness, it's entirely possible (and let's just hope this is the case) that he is joking. After all, he's not the first person to question the existence of the flying, feathered creatures.

In 2017, an Arkansas psychology student named Peter McIndoe started the "Birds Aren't Real" Movement — a satirical conspiracy that winged animals are actually spy drones for the U.S. Government. In an interview with The Guardian, McIndoe said he randomly joined counter-protesters at a women's march and created a sign that read "Birds Aren't Real" as "an absurdist statement to bring to the equation."

So while there probably are people who actually believe this theory, most "Birds Aren't Real" followers are just part of an elaborate troll job.

Still, Reiman wasn't the only one throwing around wild theories at the Combine this week.

Enter Texas Tech safety Tyler Owens — who said he doesn't "believe in space" and that flat-earth conspiracy theories have some "valid points."

"Nah, I don't believe in space," Owens said, before adding that he believes we're "on our own."

"I don't think there's other planets or stuff like that, I don't know."

It's a very good thing these guys are good at football. Because they clearly didn't pay too much attention in science class.
