NFL Analyst Goes On A Heater And Publicly Cooks Kamala Harris Policies
There was a time during his 14-year NFL career that Jay Feely was one of the league's hottest kickers.
He connected on all 40 of his extra point attempts in 2004, then connected on all his PATs in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and so on until 2013.
Feely, boasting an 82.6 career percentage on field goal tries, was 100 percent on 342 consecutive extra point tries over 10 seasons.
So, yeah, hot.
Jay Feely Goes On A Heater
But that still didn't come close to the heater Feely went on Tuesday afternoon about the political climate in America.
Feely, now 48 and an NFL analyst focusing on special teams play for CBS Sports, sent out a series of tweets on X (formerly Twitter) that left no doubt which way he's voting in the November presidential elections.
He's going with Donald Trump, whom Feely calls a friend.
"I’ve never been ashamed of my support for @realDonaldTrump," Feely said on his timeline. "I’m proud to call him my friend. I supported him in 16 & 20 especially now 2024 after they tried to kill him. The left waged political warfare against this man. They believe the end justifies the means.
"Stand up and fight!"
Feely Backs Trump, But That's Not All
Fine. This is a good starting point. But it's not really news, per se. It's not really out of the ordinary when someone on social media takes up for one political candidate or another.
It is, however, another matter when a former NFL player does it. And it's really rare when a member of the legacy media does it.
Because legacy media leans unmistakably left.
And then it is practically unheard of when a former athlete and current media member goes full on after the other side and takes on the liberal party's apparent candidate.
That's what Feely did when he replied to a Kamala Harris tweet. And it was devastatingly cutting.
Feely Responds To Kamala Harris
Harris tweeted Tuesday: "In this election, we each face a question: What kind of country do we want to live in? Do we want to live in a country of freedom, compassion, and rule of law – or a country of chaos, fear, and hate? And here's the beauty of this moment: We each have the power to answer that question. The power is with the people."
Feely wasn't having any of this. He went after the vice president and tagged her in his response because, that's how adults handle disagreements on social media.
"I actually agree @KamalaHarris," Feely responded. "One party encouraged BLM riots, encouraged illegal immigration and opened the borders, changed election laws to pick their presidential candidate & changed laws to attack their political opponent. One party is a threat to democracy – Democrats."
Dang, Jay. Right through the uprights.
Feely, on a streak to rival his consecutive extra points mark, wasn't done. Some person asked, rhetorically, one supposes, to make the argument against Harris without mentioning race, sex or personal life.
Jay Feely Enumerates Policy Failures
Fair question, actually. And Feely boomed the answer out the back of the end zone.
"Start with today," he answered. "Refusing to meet with Israel PM (support for Palestine).
" - Supporting BLM riots and providing bail for rioters.
"-Border Czar that lied about going to the border and supporting mass influx of illegals.
"- Support for illegal student loan bailout.
" - Desires higher taxes.
"- Record inflation as a result of policies she supports.
"- Believes in increased government spending despite 35 trillion in debt.
" - Embraces identity politics.
"- Believes in equity not equality.
"- Russia invaded Ukraine the day after she misspoke.
" - Failure of Afghanistan withdrawal.
Former NFL Kicker Boots Political Opponent
Somebody seriously throw in a white towel or something. But no one does. So Feely continues:
" - Weak record as a DA (and suspect).
" - Wants to ban fracking.
" - Promoted universal basic income.
" - Supports banning private health insurance.
" - Record as a senator (far left senator- only Bernie was further left. -- a self-proclaimed Socialist).
" - Support of prosecution of political rival.
"I can keep going…."
Nope, we're done for now. But the point is made by the former kicker.
Feely's passion is extraordinary. There are probably former athletes on the left who might feel just as passionately for their side.
But the fact Feely is fully out there in public now, making his case, unconcerned about consequence is impressive.
It's something frankly only seen until recently from left-wing members of the media who had cover from their left-wing employers.
