New York Mets Use Seymour Weiner To Promote $1 Hot Dog Night And Fans Loved It

The most anticipated day of the New York Mets 2024 season is upon us.

You’re probably thinking I’m on crack for saying this. I get it, it's not even May, and we have a ton of MLB season left. What could possibly be so exciting at this stage of the year?

Well, let me tell you.

Tomorrow night, fans at Citi Field will be able to watch the Mets take on the Chicago Cubs, and get a hot dog for just one dollar on "Dollar Dog Night." Given how ridiculously expensive some ballpark snacks are, this is an opportunity you’d regret missing.

But that’s not the best part of the evening.

This event has been approved by one of the most beloved Mets in recent memory. The one and only, Seymour Weiner.

I’m not making that name up, or borrowing it from an episode of The Simpsons. On Opening Day, the WWII veteran showed up to Citi Field. Naturally, he went viral for his name because, you know…

Once again, the Mets are capitalizing on this guy’s comical name to promote the event. Their graphics team had a field day putting this advertisement together.

Social media absolutely loved the marketing tactics from the Mets.

"When the Mets get it right, they get it right! I just love Seymour Weiner," one fan posted on X

"Mets better bring Seymour Weiner back for Dollar Dogs night, dude is an absolute legend now," another person chimed in.

"Joey Chestnut and Seymour Weiner goin dog for dog at the game," a third person said.

On Tuesday, you could go to a Mets game, get a cheap hot dog, and be part of an iconic night in franchise history. What a time to be alive.
