Rich Eisen Proclaims Giants Have 'Buyer's Remorse' With Daniel Jones And Are 'Done' With The Expensive QB

After five seasons at the helm in New York, the Giants are "absolutely done" with quarterback Daniel Jones, according to NFL Network broadcaster and radio host Rich Eisen.

Jones will enter the 2024 season after an injury-filled campaign a year prior that saw him play in just six games, but Eisen isn't convinced that's bought him any sort of time in the Big Apple.

The ginormous elephant in the room is Jones' contract, which is worth $160 million total with three years still remaining. The Giants guaranteed $92 million of the contract, which at the time seemed like a horrible decision and one that only aged worse one year into the four-year deal.

New York holds the No. 6 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft with rumors swirling that the franchise could select a quarterback with the selection or potentially trade up for the gunslinger of its choosing.

While Eisen didn't dabble into that hypothetical, he did emphatically explain that the Giants are done with the guy who they once saw as a potential franchise quarterback.

"The Giants are absolutely done with Daniel Jones," Eisen said on his show. "Might have to play him this year, but that ain’t it, and they feel that ain’t it. The words I heard at the Combine multiple times were ‘buyer’s remorse.’"

While Eisen seems adamant that New York is done with Jones, general manager Joe Schoen is far from waving the white flag.

"I have faith in Daniel as our starting quarterback,’ Schoen said just last week.

"He's coming off an injury. Tommy DeVito is under contract and Daniel, so we'll bring in either a veteran quarterback through free agency – Tyrod (Taylor) is in the mix there, too," Schoen added. "We're going to talk to Tyrod’s representatives this week, and Tyrod’s a true pro. He has been really good for not only Daniel but Tommy DeVito and his progress throughout the year. He's a true pro."

Schoen did note that the team would "address" the quarterback position and did not rule out "doing it in the draft."
