LA Bound! North Carolina Might Not Return Home For Two Weeks After Beating Michigan State For Sweet-16 Bid

CHARLOTTE, NC- Heads up Los Angeles, the North Carolina Tarheels are on the way, and they're bringing a flock of fans. After beating Michigan State in front of an overwhelming crowd of fans dressed in powder blue, Hubert Davis has his team just two wins away from playing in a final four.

In a game in which Michigan State came out of the gates swinging, leading by 12 points at one time in the first half, things quickly turned bad for the Spartans, thanks to Harrison Ingram in the paint. Although this year's Tom Izzo squad ultimately wasn't built for a Final Four run, it did make sure to keep North Carolina fans on their heels until the final eight minutes of the game.

Now, the Tarheels will head west to Hollywood, looking to continue writing this script that could end with a matchup against Arizona for a Final Four spot in Phoenix. Even though the arena in Charlotte was filled with Tarheels fans on Saturday night, tickets to next week's game could become a problem for fans looking to get into Cypto.com arena.

Thanks to Arizona receiving the #2 seed, and defeating Dayton on Saturday, the Wildcats will most likely takeover Los Angeles, in hopes of watching their Wildcats clinch a spot in their home state Final Four. But, I did ask a few fans in Charlotte if they will make the trip out West to Hollywood next week, and one fan was eager to spend his money.

"I've always wanted to travel to LA and see what all the buzz was about," one UNC fan told me. "Now, with my Tarheels playing out there, I can get a direct-flight, which will probably cost me a nice chunk of money with only a few days to purchase. But, this might be a once-in-a-lifetime thing for me and my buddy, so why not spend the money now? I'll be there, even if I have to pay it back for the next few years.

"Anything for my TarHeels, especially in the NCAA Tournament. It's just money."

I wish I could say the same thing, but he was hellbent on following his team out West, and I can't say I blame him. There is a great chance that North Carolina will not travel back East for the next two weeks, given that the Final Four is in Arizona. There's no reason to come back home if they win two games, and that should be the mindset of head coach Hubert Davis.

The 38th Sweet-16 appearance for North Carolina came from a gritty performance in the paint, and if the Tarheels continue to play like this, it would easily turn into a Final Four appearance.

As for what to expect next week in Los Angeles, I guess I will leave that up to the script-writers.
