Mind-Blowing Saves And Trolling Trolls, The Panthers-Lightning Series Is Delivering

Folks, going into this edition of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, I gave the Florida Panthers-Tampa Bay Lightning an unprecedented 12 out of 10 on my patent-pending Intrigue-O-Meter (which is a device I made up that is like a Geiger counter that lights up and has hot rod flames painted on it), a feat experts believed was impossible.

Through two games I ask you: are you not entertained?!

While both games have been wins for the Florida Panthers both were hard-fought close games that ended 3-2, with Game 2 requiring an extra frame in which Carter Verhaeghe potted the game-winner.

That was a big win to take command of the series before it shifts to Tampa on Thursday night, and the Panthers used a clip of it to troll trolls.

Some people love nothing more than to goof on teams in non-traditional markets and say they don't have a lot of fans, but the barn sure was full on Tuesday night and they went wild when Verhaeghe sealed the deal.

There are definitely a few more than six fans in that video.

We've seen the atmosphere that they've got down in South Florida. I mean, you've got ladies grinding on Victor E. Rat, it's a madhouse!

I don't know if I'm ready to call Sunrise a Hockey Town like Raleigh has become, but it's on its way.

There was plenty to cheer about aside from just the OT winner because these fans were treated to a show, especially from the guys in the crease.

There was a stretch where Panthers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky and Tampa's Andrei Vasilevskiy were trading highlight reel saves to keep the game knotted at 2-2.

But none topped this gem from Bobrovsky where he robbed Matt Dumba on what should have been an easy backhander into a yawning cage.

That's the best save this season, and maybe of the last few seasons.

Easily one of the best saves I've ever seen and another moment where I stare to the heavens and try to figure out why on Earth the Flyers traded Bob to the Blue Jackets.

It's been over a decade and still doesn't make sense.

Expect to see more highlights coming out of this series — especially from the netminders — as this series goes on.

Unless you're a Panthers or Lightning fan, I think we all want this puppy to go seven games.
