Max Homa Has Figured Out Why He's Been So Bad In Major Championships: His Wife

Max Homa is a six-time PGA Tour winner and the No. 8 ranked player in the world. Those two facts alone make him an objectively great professional golfer, but if there is one knock against the 33-year-old is his track record in major championships. A decade into his professional career, however, and it appears that he's figured out the culprit for his lackluster major history: his wife, Lacey.

Homa jumped on X, formerly Twitter, and shared the tongue-in-cheek revelation.

He made the mistake of reading the comments on his wife's TikTok page and one in particular stuck out so much he decided to fire off a post about it. Some troll claimed Homa has been a non-factor in major championships because his wife and son are holding him back, which is clinically insane.

Homa has earned the crown of the king of social media among professional golfers over the years, but this post could very well be his best work to date.

Funny enough, Homa has actually earned his best finish in a major championship since becoming a father.

The Cal product made 11 major championship starts prior to having his son missing the cut in seven of those appearances, with his best finish being a T-13 at the 2022 PGA Championship. After welcoming his son in 2023, he's played in four majors missing the cut in just one of them and picking up his first Top 10 finish in a major at The Open.

Homa's game seems to be trending in the right direction having finish T-16 at The Genesis in February and earning a T-8 finish during last week's Arnold Palmer Invitational.
