Marlins Skipper Turns On The Heat, Gets Tossed For Tantrum

The Miami Marlins aren't in any position to start goofing off, yet here we are in another losing effort, made increasingly bitter by team skipper Skip Schumaker getting tossed in the eighth inning.

Schumaker started a simmering feud with umpire Laz Diaz over a change

Miami absolutely stinks to start the year. They lost their ascending ace Eury Perez to Tommy John surgery after seven games to start their year. Now they're watching their skipper put on an embarrassing showcase. Monday marked his second toss of the season, creeping up to Aaron Boone levels of gaudy.

WATCH:

Schumaker blew a fuse when the San Francisco Giants brought out Camilo Duval after inadvertently summoning Tyler Rogers from the bullpen.

It's one thing to start a scene as the manager of a winning team. When the skip from an NL-worst squad starts to mouth off, all eyes will naturally go to skip as the problem, not Laz Diaz.

Fans in attendance at loanDepot Park, those still hanging around, at least got their money's worth with Schumaker's tantrum and eventual ejection.

The Giants went on to win, 4-3, after a booming three-run seventh inning to take a commanding lead.

It's back-to-back heartbreaks for the 3-14 Marlins. On Sunday, the Marlins lost to the Atlanta Braves. Miami boasted a one-run lead with two outs against ATL in the ninth. Braves batter Marcell Ozuna pounded a home run into the stands on an 0-2 count, ruining the Marlins' shot at their fourth win of the season.

Last season, the Marlins finished third in the NL East at 84-78.
