Marcell Ozuna Saves Atlanta Braves On Final Out

Marcell Ozuna saved the day for the Atlanta Braves.

In an incredibly decisive at-bat Sunday, Ozuna flipped the clutch switch.

The Miami Marlins had the Braves down to a final out and an 0-2 count on Ozuna, 7-6, in the ninth.

Given his rocky start to the year, Miami's Tanner Scott made fans anxious about the save situation.

Braves fans were the most on edge but unlike the Marlins fans, there was faith in Ozuna to deliver, batting .373 with seven homers (1st in MLB) so far this season. Ozuna delivered; connecting for a booming home run.

As Clay Travis posted on X, the call on the play by the Braves' broadcast team made for an electric listen.

Ozuna went 3 for 5 against Cleveland, driving in four runs and a game-saving home run.

The Marlins are starting the year on baseball's ‘Worst’ list; still, that's a great way to end a game for Atlanta, winning 9-7.

Braves fans needed to end the week on a positive note.

Things turned sour for Atlanta this week after losing ace Spencer Strider to season-ending elbow surgery.

Fans lamented losing Strider, recognized as a premier talent among MLB pitchers. As the pitching takes a step back by losing Strider, the Braves lean more on their powerful lineup to win games.

The roster's stacked on offense, boasting Ozuna, Ronald Acuña, Matt Olson, Ozzie Albies, Austin Riley and more elite bats.

For now, Atlanta remains atop the NL East (9-5), and Miami (3-13) is firmly planted at the bottom of the division.
