Former LSU Star Bluntly Slams Team After South Carolina Fight

Former LSU basketball star Alexis Morris isn't overly impressed with the state of the Tigers.

LSU and South Carolina decided to get into a melee at the end of a 79-72 win for the Gamecocks when tempers flared at the end of the matchup.

Things got so out of control once things got violent that Flau’Jae Johnson’s brother jumped onto the court like he was going to do something.

While it's always hard to know what sparks these situations, it certainly seemed like Johnson throwing a shove led to Kamilla Cardoso jacking her up and it was off to the races from there.

Alexis Morris calls out LSU team.

The team's former guard was definitely not impressed by what she saw, and made that clear to her followers when reacting.

"Either way it goes, that would not have happened [seemingly implying if she were still on the team]. You gotta have a leader on the court. We don’t have a leader on the court to be like, ‘Hey, we not about to engage. We not about to initiate. We’re not about to start no type of confrontation,'" Morris said in a livestream video following the fight, according to On3.

It's hard to disagree with Morris' assessment of the situation. Where was the leadership from LSU's squad to get a tent on the circus before things really popped off?

Instead, Angel Reese grabbed a South Carolina player's hair earlier in the game, Flau’Jae Johnson threw a shove, her brother jumped on the court and it was embarrassing all the way around.

To make matters even more embarrassing for the LSU Tigers, Kim Mulkey didn't come out and apologize for her team's antics. She wanted to deflect blame onto the refs.

Keep it classy, Kim.

You know things are bad when a former player like Alexis Morris has to come out and drop the hammer on her former team. Do you agree with her comments? Let me know at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
