Lionel Messi's Bodyguard Pounces On Pitch Runner

Don't upset Lionel Messi's bodyguard. A fan running on the pitch interrupted Saturday night's MLS match at Arrowhead Stadium, featuring Messi's Inter Miami team.

Waiting on the sideline, Messi's bodyguard, Yassine Cheuko, jumped into action as the fan ran toward Messi. It was a star-making performance for Messi's bodyguard, taking off at kick a** speed to reach and pull down the field runner.

Three different runners appeared on the pitch, one of them being a minor. The bodyguard met up with the teen, let them take a photo and escorted the youngster off the field.

Threatened or not, Lionel Messi, 36, appears to be in good hands.

WATCH:

Messi is playing in the first year of a two-and-a-half-year, $150 million deal with Inter Miami.

The star's move to MLS was considered jet fuel for the league's popularity. American fans have showed out for Messi's games as the soccer star continues playing like an all-time great. Messi visited Kansas City to face Sporting KC, the city's MLS team.

Miami was up 3-2 at the time of the fan's interruption, and they held on for the victory. Messi, as you'd expect from the goat, scored a goal.

As for the bodyguard, he might've earned himself a pay raise with Sunday's speedy response.
