LeBron James Cowardly Blames Refs For Loss After Blowing Massive Lead

LeBron James wants the world to know the refs - not the Lakers - are responsible for his team losing Monday night to the Nuggets.

The Lakers are now down 2-0 in the playoffs series against the Nuggets after blowing a 20-point lead and losing 101-99 Monday.

Instead of focusing on blowing a massive lead, everyone is talking about an overturned foul by Michael Porter Jr. on D'Angelo Russell. It appeared like Porter hit Russell on the face late in the third quarter, and it was originally called a foul.

Ultimately, it was overturned by the replay center after being challenged. LeBron wasn't happy about that.

LeBron James rips NBA refs after losing to the Nuggets.

"I don't understand what's going on in the replay center, to be honest…D-Lo clearly gets hit in the face on a drive. What the f*ck do we have a replay center for if it's going to go [like that]? It doesn't make sense to me. Makes no sense to me. It bothers me," LeBron told the media after the devastating loss.

Was a foul committed on D-Lo? Almost certainly. At first glance at full speed, there's no doubt in my mind contact was made to his face. The refs in the replay center felt differently about it. Blown calls happen all the time in sports.

There's some old advice when it comes to a situation like this:

Never leave the game in a situation where the refs can have an impact.

What would we like to call blowing a 20-point lead in a playoff game when already down 0-1 in the series? I'd call that leaving the game in a situation where refs can impact it.

Blown call or not, LeBron only has himself and his teammates to blame. Oh, what do we have here? LeBron James missing a potential game-winning shot! Is this also on the refs or does he take the blame for this one?

Blaming the officials is always a bad look. It's a much worse look after dumping a 20-point lead. Be better, LeBron. Be better. Let me know if you agree at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
