Sorority Tug-Of-War, Slam Dunk Contest, Joey Chestnut: Lane Kiffin Brought The Fun To Ole Miss 'Grove Bowl'

Oh, you thought it was going to be just another spring game for Ole Miss? Well, Lane Kiffin made sure that fans who attended this event in Oxford on Saturday were going to leave with a smile, and a laugh.

Yea, you could've attended another boring scoring game that is a glorified practice, but Ole Miss decided it was time to change things up, while also preventing its players from getting injured. The football portion of the ‘Grove Bowl’ consisted of a 7v7 flag-football matchup between the Rebels, and if that wasn't enough, the event started with a slam-dunk contest.

The Rebels decided to build a small court in the student-section portion of the end-zone, where they got to watch numerous football players show off their basketball skills. Did I mention that folks were able to bring in their own alcohol to the event?

While the basketball portion of the show brought out a number of cheers from fans in attendance, it was the third event that took things to a more competitive level. First, it was the players going against each other in a tug-of-war contest that got pretty heated, with QB Jaxson Dart participating. Then, it was the coaches' turn to get in on the action, with the Blue squad pulling out the win.

But, the sorority showdown was the main event during this first half production, and one team came prepared to dominate their opposing sisters in the community. This was a one-sided competition, as the team dressed in black came out the gates looking like they were ready to strap-on the pads as well.

Joey Chestnut Brought His Hot-Dog Eating Title To Oxford

Yes, you read that right. The most famous eater in the world made a trip to Oxford this weekend, thanks to Ole Miss head coach Lamne Kiffin sliding into his DM's and inviting him to the party. When he was going through his messages, he thought it was a joke from someone with a fake Lane Kiffin account.

‘Who is this guy?’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God, it’s really Lane Kiffin.' And I was like, 'Yeah I think I can shovel around some things and be free on Saturday," Joey Chestnut told Michael Katz

The official judge of the halftime hot-dog eating contest, multiple football players, sorority members and other athletes participated in the event. This turned out to be one of the craziest things I've seen at a sporting event, and the fans were eating it up.

One of the best parts of the entire event was the final minute of the eating contest, when Lane Kiffin brought Chestnut to the stage, and he ended up demolishing 20 hot dogs in 90 seconds, leading the blue team in the win.

As the second half started, Lane Kiffin put on his Taylor Swift playlist, and this will now go down as one of the craziest spring showcases in college football history.
