Facing off against the second-seeded Denver Nuggets on Sunday, the seventh-seeded Dallas Mavericks hoped to escape with an upset win at home as the NBA regular season enters its final stretch.

Dallas appeared out-matched against Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and company until Irving and Mavs star Luka Doncic locked in the final minute to set up the 105-105 tie, preceding one last possession by the Mavericks in regulation.

Down 105-102 with less than 30 seconds on the game clock, Doncic nailed a deep three on Dallas' penultimate possession on offense. Denver had the chance for a go-ahead score, but Jamal Murray missed an easy mid-range shot to give Dallas one more possession with 2.3 seconds remaining.

Fans at American Airlines Center had their eyes dead-set on Luka (37 points) to take the final shot.

Instead, the inbound pass went to Irving.

Kyrie chewed up every bit of the remaining two seconds. Guarded by Jokic, Irving took the inbound, dribbled toward the free-throw line and got off an acrobatic floater as time expired by switching to his left hand as Nikola Jokic crowded his right side.

The shot went in, and Dallas won, 107-105.

Dazzling stuff by one of the league's best point guards in Irving. Mavericks players ran to celebrate with Irving while Doncic looked at his teammate in relief.

WATCH:

Irving nearly recorded a triple-double, tallying 24 points (Kobe!), nine assists and seven rebounds.

Sunday hoops did not disappoint, between the Yale game-winner, Bam Adebayo's 3-pointer to beat the Pistons and Kyrie's shot.
