John Calipari Cowardly Threw His Team Under The Bus After Oakland Loss: VIDEO

John Calipari wasted no time before finding someone to blame after a stunning loss to Oakland.

The Kentucky Wildcats lost 80-76 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to the Grizzlies in what can only be described as an absolute stunner.

Once again, Kentucky disappointed in the postseason, and it feels like a lifetime ago when the Wildcats were contending every single season.

But don't worry, UK fans, because Calipari knows who is responsible for Thursday night, and it's not him.

John Calipari cowardly calls out players after Oakland loss.

Did Calipari put his hand up and accept responsibility for the embarrassing loss? After all, he is the head coach. The buck stops with him. Nope. He wants fans and the country to know his players simply didn't show up to play.

"You know, we had some guys that didn’t play the way they’ve been playing all year. We did everything we could. We knew the zone would be tough, but we missed shots we don’t miss. And, you know, the preparation, I thought they were in a great — trying to keep them loose. But when the game started, they just…you had some guys not play to the level they can play," Calipari told CBS after the game.

Yes, the players just didn't show up. Case closed. Well done, Cal. You figured it out You can watch his comments below, and let me know what you think at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

Absolutely clownish behavior from Calipari. It's almost like he doesn't want to take responsibility for one NCAA Tournament win in five seasons.

This comment is eerily similar to Alec Baldwin's famous remark of, "Someone is responsible for what happened, and I can't say who that is, but I know it's not me."

Did Kentucky freshman Reed Sheppard have a very disappointing game after going 1-5 for 3 points in the game? Yes. Did Kentucky shoot a disappointing 32.1% from three? Yes.

Who was responsible for dialing the sets and schemes and keeping certain guys on the floor? I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure that falls on Calipari. Just don't tell him that. He's too busy letting people know his guys didn't play like they should have.

It's going to be fascinating to see what happens with Calipari amid massive fan backlash. I've already had one reader email and say he's going to start a GoFundMe to deal with Calipari's $33 million+ buyout. Let me know what you think should happen at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
