Girlfriend Of Chargers Draft Pick Goes Viral For Awkward Reaction On Live TV

Joe Alt's girlfriend Emilie Meyer caught the attention of the internet. Thursday night, but not for the best reasons!

Alt, a former star Notre Dame offensive lineman, was drafted fifth overall to the Chargers, and he'll now be tasked with protecting Justin Herbert.

The young man has a lot of potential, and should be a solid NFL player. However, that's not what social media was talking about during the NFL Draft.

Joe Alt's girlfriend Emilie Meyer goes viral.

It was Meyer who grabbed people's attention because she looked like she had no idea what was going on when the cameras cut to her during the pick.

I was watching this moment live, and it was clear to me that Alt, Meyer and nobody else in the room had any idea they were on TV. Was there a delay? Were they just not told? I don't know, but Meyer's reaction generated some funny reactions on X.

Check out some below, and hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

And this was by far and away my favorite reaction. Spot-on.

There's always a handful of people who go viral every single NFL Draft. Usually, it's for wild reactions, people discovering their Instagram or something random. This situation definitely falls into the last category.

For whatever reason, Meyer and Alt didn't realize they were being filmed and it led to her looking like she had no idea what the hell was going on.

The good news is they're now on their way to Los Angeles and he has a big bag of money coming his way. She'll be smiling soon enough. Let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
