Jim Boeheim Says He Wants To 'Punch' Caitlin Clark Haters

Iowa women's basketball superstar Caitlin Clark broke the NCAA all-time scoring record on Sunday in a win over Ohio State. Clark surpassed Pete Maravich, who set the previous record in 1970. Hall of Fame college coach Jim Boeheim heaped praise on Clark's accomplishment on Monday.

Boeheim joined Dan Dakich on OutKick's "Don't At Me" and delivered effusive praise for the Iowa hooper. Boeheim called Clark his favorite player to watch in all of basketball.

"She's the only player I turn on to watch TV," Boeheim told Dakich. "I look and see when Iowa is playing, and I make sure I watch. I mean, who would you rather watch? I still like Steph [Curry] … but if I had to pick, I got to watch one game today, and then she's the one I pick to watch."

Quite a compliment from one of the greatest basketball coaches of all-time. Boeheim is a member of both the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and the College Basketball Hall of Fame. Clark appears to be on a path to enter both of those halls someday, too.

For now, some people still knock Clark for various reasons. But, Boeheim has a message for those who try to denigrate her accomplishments.

"Some expert says, 'well, she hasn't won a championship.' If I ever see that guy, I just punch him," Boeheim said before quickly pivoting to show his humorous side. "Unless he's really big. I won't do it if he's really big. But, these people, how do they get even get jobs saying stuff like that? There should be certain things you say that disqualifies you from ever being on radio or TV again."
