Jason Kelce Gets A Brand Spankin' New Baritone Sax Retirement Gift

Jason Kelce has a great new way to irritate the missus in retirement thanks to a gift he received from an orthopedic clinic in Philadelphia: a baritone saxophone.

When one thinks of an orthopedic clinic, who doesn't think of woodwind instruments.

However, there's a reason why that's the gift they went with.

According to Daily Mail, Kelce was given his new sax at a charity golf event and the moment was caught on video and shared by Philly sports radio station 94WIP.

"This is nice!" the former Philadelphia Eagles center said as he was handed the instrument which reportedly cost somewhere in the $7,000 neighborhood.

"I played saxophone before football, I played all through high school," Kelce explained. "And then when I got to college I figured no one would want to hear me play this in the dorm."

I don't know about that one. I'm pretty sure my roommates were jazzed when I came walking into the dorm with a guitar case and a practice amp. They were like, "This guy is cool. I can't wait to hear him try to play Metallica songs."

It may have been a while since Kelce has played the sax, but it's always nice to have something to do to unwind when he's not broadcasting. I'm sure his wife will love trying to watch TV while Kelce G sits there and plays "Careless Whisper."

I'd be fascinated to know how quickly his sax skills come flooding back to him. Like will he still have proper embouchure from the jump, or will he need to work to get back to where he was? That's a word I remember from when I played alto saxophone in 4th grade, and it means, "the way in which a player applies the mouth to the mouthpiece of a brass or wind instrument."

Kelce's musically inclined and put out a Christmas album last year.

I don't know if he has plans to do another one or not, but I feel like there's a good chance that the follow-up is significantly heavier on the saxophone solos.
