Houston Christian Basketball Is Wearing Some Really Funky Throwback Uniforms

The Houston Christian Huskies men's basketball team generally has a very simple, classic uniform set.

But for Saturday's game against the Incarnate Word Cardinals, the Huskies went for something completely different. Instead of the usual simplistic color scheme and color-matched jersey top and shorts, Saturday was throwback day.

And, boy oh boy, do they have some throwbacks. Highlights posted by the Incarnate Word X account showed how the uniforms looked in action…and they were something else.

Striped shorts, reminiscent of the Harlem Globetrotters, and an outstanding cartoon husky on the jersey top. Gotta love it.

The "Hustlin Husky" has to be one of the great throwback mascots in college sports. And the usual uniform, while a perfectly acceptable set, can't hold a candle to this, shall we say, unusual combination.

‘Hustlin Husky’ Jersey Brings Good Luck To Houston Christian

Maybe thanks to the outstanding uniform set, the Huskies took home a W, beating the Cardinals 86-83.

Hopefully that means the return of many more throwback uniform days down the road.
