Fairleigh Dickinson's Team Stuck In Elevator Ahead of Tip-Off, Prompting Game Delay

Fairleigh Dickinson's men's basketball team lived through a strange event before Thursday evening's tip-off against Long Island University.

FDU players were stuck in an elevator that led the Knights players to their locker rooms.

Firemen arrived at Steinberg Wellness Center to rescue the Knights players from the elevator.

FOX college basketball's John Fanta posted a photo of the scene, showing the elevator descending halfway through the entrance, with FDU players looking up to the emergency responders.

Thankfully, the student-athletes were confirmed safe, and the game tipped off.

OutKick's Trey Wallace couldn't help but add levity to the situation. Gotta love that man!

"Well, they've got a Fairleigh decent sized problem on their hands," Wallace commented.

Fairleigh Dickinson is perhaps best remembered for last season's triumph in the NCAA Tournament.

Entering March Madness as the No. 16 seed, the Knights shocked college basketball by dethroning top-seeded Purdue in the first round.

Now, they're back to ground zero ('boasting' an 11-16 record), and trying to make another improbable run.
